Faroese Food and Veterinary Agency

The Faroese Food and Veterinary Agency (Heilsufrøðilaga Starvsstovan) manages the food and veterinary disease laws for the Ministry of Trade and Industry. In addition there are public notices, which are in accordance with these two laws.

FFVA's activities are divided into three main areas:

  • Supervision/administration
  • Laboratory
  • Research and development

According to the EU stipulations FFVA' laboratory is appointed by the Minister of Trade and Industry to be the Faroese "reference-laboratorium".
