The Environmental Agency

 

The Environmental Agency is a subsidiary of the Ministry of the Fisheries. Its work areas include Environment Protection, Land (Faroese Cadastre), Maps and Geodata, Research, Recreational areas, the Land Registration Act and the National Register.

The Environmental Agency is an active force in the community and employs various specialists within its areas of responsibility. A significant part of the Agencyĺs activities is to disseminate information to the public, authorities and other interested parties. This is accomplished, in part, by a dynamic website.

The Environmental Agency is in charge of the Faroe Islandsĺ implemented agreements that fall within the Agencyĺs domain. In addition, the Agency is participating in various Nordic and international cooperations.
